Labour Day: TN Govt implements many schemes for workers

HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR)  said today that the state government is implementing a number of welfare schemes with the aim of improving the living standards of workers and farmers.

On May Day, Labour Day, also known as International Workers Day, Chief Minister KCR sent blessings to all professional and diligent workers who toil away in their fields and indirectly contribute to the advancement of society.
Chief Minister said that wealth is being created in this world only through the hardwork and the sacrifices of hardworking people which are the foundations for the strong building of the universe.

He said that in the event of an employee death due to an accident, the state government will reimburse the family Rs. 6 lakh. The state government provided 4,001 impacted families with aid totaling Rs 223 crore between 2014 and 2023. Rs. 5 lakh apiece is offered in the event of an accident-related disability. 504 disabled workers have received a total of Rs 8.9 crore in assurance until date.

He emphasised that women who have two delivery receive a maternity benefit of Rs 30,000.

From 2014 till date, the government has given 35,796 families help totaling Rs 280 crore. If a worker passes away for any reason, their families will receive one lakh rupees. 1,49,536 dependents of workers have received payments totaling Rs 94 crore so far.

The state government  further spent Rs 98 crore on the funerals of the 39,797 workers who passed away. The state government invested Rs 1,005 crore on various activities during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Chief Minister made it clear that the administration will keep working to improve the quality of life for employees throughout the entire nation in the same way that Telangana's labour welfare schemes are being carried out.
