Lakhimpur Violence: 5 accused arrested from Delhi for blackmailing Union Minister Ashish Mishra

Lucknow: Delhi Police has arrested 5 persons for blackmailing Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni. Delhi Police has informed that a complaint was received by the staff of Union Minister Ajay Mishra that he had received calls for money. An FIR was registered in New Delhi in the case. Delhi Police has arrested a total of 5 persons including 4 accused from Noida and 1 from Delhi for extortion calling and are currently being questioned.

Ajay Mishra's son Ashish Mishra is the main accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case and is currently in jail. Some people were reportedly calling Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni in the name of a video related to the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case. This complained to the Delhi Police Commissioner by the Union Minister. Delhi Police has arrested 5 boys working in BPO in the case. However, officially the police are yet to share the information as to why the accused were blackmailing the Union minister.

SIT investigating the Lakhimpur Kheri violence had claimed in its report that the incident was carried out by the son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni and his associates as part of a deliberate, planned conspiracy. Since then, the Opposition has been continuously demanding the resignation of the Minister of State for Home Affairs.
