Guwahati: A leopard entered a residential area in Guwahati, Assam, creating an atmosphere of panic there. A leopard attacked a woman on Tuesday morning in Pandu Loko Colony of Maligaon, in which she was badly injured. The woman, who was covered in blood after the leopard attack, has been admitted to the Guwahati Medical College Hospital. After attacking the woman, the leopard climbed a tree and sat on it for some time before entering another house.
People are lurking in their homes as a leopard has entered another house. Forest department officials are on the spot and trying to pacify the leopard. There was panic in the area after the leopard attack on the woman, for which the police and paramilitary personnel had to be called in to control. Let us tell you that in Assam, leopards often wander from nearby hills to nearby areas of Maligaon and Guwahati in search of food. Due to the continuous depletion of forests in and around the city, wild animals reach the residential areas.
