NEW DELHI: After the Lieutenant  Governor ordered a probe by the Central Burea of investigation the liquor policy, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)has taken the fight to the Parliament, giving the notice to suspend business in the Rajya Sabha. The party is upset that after Satyendar Jain was detained by Enforcement Directorate, this is the second case against the Delhi government minister.

Sanjay Singh, AAP's Rajya Sabha MP, has sent a Suspension of Business Notice under Rule 267 against the 'misuse of CBI and Enforcement Directorate against the Delhi Government.'
Lt. Governor V.K. Saxena of Delhi has ordered a CBI investigation into the AAP government's Excise Policy 2021-22, and the Chief Secretary has been asked to produce a thorough report on the responsibilities of officials engaged in the policy's revision and implementation.

According to a source, the Lt. Governor has requested the Chief Secretary's report on the 'gross violations and deliberate lapses' in the formulation, amendment, and implementation of the Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22, which were highlighted in the Chief Secretary's report to the Lt Governor and the Chief Minister.

According to a person familiar with the development, the officers should have highlighted and brought the inconsistencies to the attention of the secretary and the appropriate authorities.
