Hyderabad: Due to the increasing cases of Covid-19, the pressure of work on doctors and medical staff has also increased. In such a situation, doctors, nurses and other medical personnel have to wear masks, gloves and PPE kits to protect themselves from the virus. In this sequence, a huge amount of biowaste is accumulating from hospitals, which has become a problem for those living near the hospital. People of the area around Gandhi Hospital have become very upset with this waste. According to the information received, a large amount of bio-waste is accumulating in the Gandhi Hospital of Hyderabad, which is becoming a threat to the people.
The garbage that has been accumulating for a long time is smelling bad due to which people of the surrounding area are annoyed and they are not able to tolerate this odour. It is being told that the hospital management removes biomedical waste after every two days, but the garbage is dumped there for the last ten days. The pile of garbage is producing foul smell and people have also complained about it. According to the information received, Sangeeta Sudarshan of Padmarao Nagar talked about this. She alleged that "There is a pile of garbage in the hospital premises and the people of the area are upset over not removing it."
She said, "Local people are also worried about biomedical waste as well as a large number of corpses in Gandhi Hospital. A large number of deaths are taking place in this hospital every day, but due to fear of corona and other reasons, more corpses are being kept here than the capacity of the morgue of the hospital".
