Bhopal -Madhya Pradesh: The aggression of the Lumpy Skin Disease virus has claimed 101 animals in Madhya Pradesh, according to data released by the chief minister's office here.

According to the official statement, there were 7,686 animals infected in the state's 26 districts, of which 5,432 were treated and 101 died.

"It must be treated seriously. Shivraj Singh Chauhan, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, said in the statement, "We will combat this lumpy virus to save the lives of animals, just like we did against Covid.

Many milch cattle are dying across states due to the attack of the virus that causes Lumpy Skin Disease. Maharashtra is another state that is being severely impacted by the disease's breakout apart from Madhya Pradesh.

In Maharashtra, many cattle have lost their lives due to contracting the infection.

In the state of Maharashtra, Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) has been rapidly spreading. It affects cattle and is a cutaneous viral illness. According to the animal husbandry department's release, neither cow milk nor contact with animals can spread this sickness to humans.

Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) is a contagious viral disease that affects cattle and causes fever, skin nodules, and death. Mosquitoes, lice, flies,  and wasps spread the disease via direct contact with cattle and also contaminated water and food. The disease reportedly entered India, Bangladesh and China in July 2019.
