Madhya Pradesh: Illegal sand-filled tractor tramples bike rider, agitated villagers create uproar

Bhopal: How mining mafias dominate the police and administration in the sand business from the Chambal river in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh can be judged from the fact that illegal sand vehicles are killing the common people every day. But the police and the administration have failed to stop them. The latest case has come from Raipur Khurd village in Mahua police station area. While an illegal sand tractor hit a motorcycle, a young man died on the spot and two persons were seriously injured and are undergoing treatment at the district hospital.

Agitated by the incident, people vandalised the vehicles of Mahua police station on the spot, in which a constable Chandrashekhar Devpuria was also injured. A large number of police forces have been sent to the spot after the incident. Agitated villagers did not allow the body of the deceased to be lifted for 5 hours and also vandalised the police vehicles.

The villagers have accused the police of illegal settlements with sand mafias and caused a lot of uproar over the accident. However, the Superintendent of Police has spotted the line to two guards posted at Mahua police station. Agitated villagers did not allow the police to carry the body of the deceased till 12 p.m., all police officers were present on the spot, but the villagers demanded financial assistance to the family of the deceased.
