Sehore: MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan is celebrating his birthday today. He was born on March 5, 1959, in Jait, a small village on the banks of the Narmada in Sehore district. His journey from this village to becoming cm is very overwhelming. Shivraj's father's name is Prem Singh Chouhan and his mother's name is Sunder Bai. They belong to the Kirar community. Shivraj, popularly known as Mama among the children of the state, is also known as the brother with his feet. When Shivraj became an MP, there was a Congress party government. He raised many issues. There were also several marches in the area. That is why he also came to be known as the brother-in-law of the feet in Vidisha parliamentary constituency. On the feet, my brother struggled politically. On November 29, 2005, he became the chief minister of MP for the first time. His political journey took a high in Bhopal. The leader hidden within him had the opportunity to come out in the streets of his own village at an early age. Here he went against his own family and made the first movement in the rights of the workers. He won this movement to increase the wages of the workers. The wages of the workers increased.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan tied the knot with Sadhana on May 6, 1992, after becoming an MP. Sadhana was the daughter of the Matani family of Gondia. They have two sons. He used to live in a small house in the urban Swarnakar Colony. But when the public came and went on to become an MP, he had rented out a two-storey building at Sherpura in Vidisha. He studied up to class IV in the village. He came to Bhopal for further studies. Enrolled in model higher secondary school here. With studies here, the students emerged as leaders. At the time of his time, he contested the election of cultural secretary of the student cabinet in 10th standard. In this, they had to see the face of defeat. But after this defeat, they did not stop. Exactly a year later, he contested the election for the post of president in class 11. He was elected president of the students' union in 1975.

When Shivraj was just 13 years old, he joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in 1972. He had opposed the Emergency imposed in the Congress government, due to which he also went to jail in 1976-77. Chief Minister Shivraj did his post-graduation in Philosophy from Hamidia College, Barkatullah University, Bhopal. They were gold medal-winning students. In 1977-1978, he became the Organizing Minister of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. He was a joint minister of the ABVP in MP from 1978 to 1980. He was the State General Secretary of the All India Legislative Council from 1980 to 1982. He was elected a member of the National Executive of the Council in 1982-1983. In 1984-1985, he was made the Joint Secretary of the BJYM in MP and in 1985, he was made the General Secretary. He held this position until 1988. In 1988, he was made the state president of the BJYM. He held this position until 1991. Before becoming the head of the state, Shivraj was a five-time MP. He was first elected to the 10th Lok Sabha (1991) when Atal Bihari Vajpayee left the Vidisha seat. In the 11th Lok Sabha (1996), Shivraj was re-elected from Vidisha. For the 12th Lok Sabha, he was elected mp for the third time from Vidisha constituency in 1998, the fourth time for 13th Lok Sabha in 1999 and the fifth time for Vidisha for 15th Lok Sabha. Before him, Arjun Singh and Shyamacharan Shukla had been CMs three times each. Shivraj Singh Chouhan was elected MLA from the Budhni assembly constituency of Sehore in 2005. Thereafter, he was elected as an MLA from here in 2008, 2013 and 2018. In the 2003 assembly elections, he had contested against Digvijay Singh from Raghogarh but lost. This was the first defeat of Shivraj's political career. He had earlier won the assembly elections from Budhni in 1990. Due to the 14th Lok Sabha elections held in 2004, he was elected for the fifth time. In 2005, he was made the president of the state BJP. On November 29, 2005, when Babulal Gaur resigned from his post, he became the CM of Madhya Pradesh for the first time. The very next year, he contested the by-election from the Budhni assembly constituency and won. He has already been named the record for his longest tenure as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh.
