Bhopal: As per e cent incident, After Rajasthan, farmers in Madhya Pradesh have now supposed that their names have been included in the list of farm loan waiver even when they never took out a loan. The incident was reported from Sagar district. Sagar District Central cooperative committee manager said that “They're collecting information from the bank manager. Action will be taken if someone is found to be at fault.”

The incident was reported from Gowadi Village, Sagwara Tehsil in Dungarpur district of Rajasthan. According to a source report, the people came to know about this inconsistency when they checked the name of farmers on the online link provided by the state government. The cooperative bank had given a short-term loan of Rs 8 crore to 1780 farmers from the district. Once the report broke out, the government dismissed the manager of the cooperative bank and ordered an investigation into the matter.

While the Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government in Rajasthan came under scanner after farmers in Dungarpur claimed that their names were featured on the list of those whose short-term farm loan was recently waived by the state government. Earlier, Congress president Rahul Gandhi had promised farm loan waiver in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh if the party forms the government in all the three states. After Gehlot announced a farm loan waiver up to Rs 2 lakh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan also followed suit and announced waiver.
