Lucknow: Mahant Narendra Giri, who was the President of the All India Akhara Parishad at Baghbari Math, was buried. As a result, representatives of 13 Akharas were present. Earlier, the late Mahant Narendra Giri was given Bhu Samadhi under the traditions of sant samaj at Baghbari Math. He was buried in a sitting posture. This led to the presence of sadhus and saints in the monastery. The mortal remains of Mahant Narendra Giri were taken to Sangam before the Bhu Samadhi. The mortal remains of Mahant Narendra Giri were bathed at the Sangam.

The body of Mahant Narendra Giri was found hanging inside his room in the monastery on Monday. Earlier, the post mortem report of Mahant Narendra Giri was revealed. The post mortem revealed that the cause of Narendra Giri's death was hanging. Viscera has been reserved for further investigation.

It may be recalled that Mahant Narendra Giri died under suspicious circumstances. An 18-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted on Tuesday to probe the death of Mahant Giri and arrested a disciple of the saint in Haridwar. Meanwhile, CM Yogi Adityanath said that all aspects related to Mahanta's death are being investigated and criminals will not be spared. According to the same police, Giri allegedly hanged himself from a fan. An alleged suicide note has also been received in which Mahanta has written that he is mentally disturbed and distressed by one of his disciples.
