Unlock 5.0: Maharashtra Government releases guidelines for Restaurants to open

COVID-19 safety guidelines for the restaurants and other eateries have been issued by the Maharashtra government. They are set to be open from October 5. Hotels, food Courts and Restaurants can operate from October 5 with their 50% seating capacity. The coronavirus symptoms such as high temperature, Cough, and cold are screened at the entry points for the customers. Asymptomatic customers alone are allowed to enter inside.

Wearing a face mask is mandatory except during eating. Customers should follow social distancing while waiting for the Service. The details of customers including their address, phone number should be obtained to share their details with administrative and health authorities for contact-tracing related activities. Hand Sanitizers must be made available and payment should be encouraged through digital mode taking precautionary measures such as sanitizing keypads, cards. If cash transactions are made, proper precautionary measures such as wearing gloves, sanitizing coins should be made. Restrooms and Hand wash areas should be cleaned and sanitized in a frequent basis. At cash counter, Plexiglass or similar barriers should be made where frequent contact is taking place. Entry and Exit points should be different.

The uninterrupted function of CCTV cameras inside and around the premises should be ensured. Raw or cold foods should not be supplied. Menu cards must not contain raw or cold food. Only cooked foods are allowed. Furniture should be disinfected on a daily basis. With the new guidelines, the supply chain of the food industry is all set to be open and the business is expected to be of its usual form.
