Let's know the easy way to make this delicious recipe.

Ingredients required to make Dahi Bhalla

  • Urad dal: 1 cup (soaked for 5 hours)
  • Salt: as per taste
  • Red chilli powder: 1 tsp
  • Cumin: 1 teaspoon (roasted)
  • Baking soda: 1/4 tsp (optional)
  • Oil: for frying
  • Curd: 2 cups (whipped well)
  • Tamarind chutney: 4-5 teaspoons
  • Green coriander chutney: 4-5 teaspoons
  • Black salt: 1/2 tsp

How to make Dahi Bhalle

1. Preparing the lentils: First, clean the urad dal and soak it in water for 5 hours. This will make the lentils swell well. Then drain the water from the lentils and grind it finely in a mixer. After grinding, a smooth paste of this lentil will be formed.

2. Adding spices to the paste: Now add salt, red chili powder, and cumin seeds to this ground lentil paste as per taste. If you want your Bhallas to be more fluffy and soft, then you can also add a little baking soda to it. This will make the Bhallas even more light and fluffy.

3. Fry the Bhalle: Now heat the oil in a pan. When the oil is well heated, make small balls of the lentil paste with the help of a spoon and put them in the oil. Fry the balls on low flame until they become light golden. When these balls are fried well, take them out of the pan and keep them in a plate.

4. Soaking the Bhallas: Soak the fried Bhallas in water for a while. This will make them soft and also enhance their taste. After some time, take out the Bhallas from the water and squeeze them gently to remove excess water.

5. Preparation of curd: Now beat the curd well so that there are no lumps in it. Add salt to the beaten curd as per taste. To enhance the taste of curd, you can also add a little black salt to it.

6. Serving Dahi Bhalle: Now place the Bhalles in a serving plate. Pour whipped curd over them. Then add tamarind chutney and green coriander chutney as per taste. Finally sprinkle roasted cumin seeds and black salt. Your delicious Dahi Bhalle are ready. Now share them with your brother and make this festival of Rakshabandhan even more special. Dahi Bhalle is a dish that is eaten by all with great gusto. This Rakshabandhan, definitely try this simple and delicious recipe to bring a smile on your brother's face.
