Kolkata: Assembly elections are proposed in West Bengal this year. In the wake of elections, every party does not want to lose any opportunity to woo the voters. In such a situation, the government of the CM of the state and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee is going to launch the 'Maa Ki Rasoi' scheme in Bengal. Under this, people will be given a full meal for five rupees.

Actually, before the elections, the Mamata government is bringing the 'mother's kitchen' scheme for the poor. Under this scheme, poor people will be provided with food for only 5 rupees. For five rupees people will get dal-rice, a vegetable and an egg. Today CM Mamata Banerjee will launch this 'mother's kitchen' scheme virtually from the state secretariat. At present, under this scheme, lunch is being arranged in 16 Borough Offices of Kolkata. Nearly thousands of people will be served lunch everywhere. It is being told that this scheme will be started gradually outside Kolkata.

In Tamil Nadu also the then Chief Minister Jayalalithaa started a similar scheme in the name of 'Amma Canteen' where the poor were given a lot of food for 5 rupees. Mamata Banerjee is also starting this scheme on the same lines. However, the opposition parties are calling it an election stunt before the election.
