While Harjeet Singh said, "Strict legal action should be taken against the accused." In this case, the deceased's brother Gurpreet Singh said, "His brother has been deceived and murdered for suspicion of a love affair."

At the same time Sukhjinder Singh Khaira, in-charge of police station Rajasansi told that, "Harchand Singh, the father of the deceased, has informed him that his son Akashdeep has been murdered by Kulbir Singh and his family. The reason for the murder is his daughter's love affair with Akashdeep. A month ago, the two families had a quarrel over the same thing. "In this case, the police has started an investigation and the maternal uncle of the deceased teenager has spoken about taking strict action against the accused."
