Chandigarh: Union Minister and Punjab BJP in-charge Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has claimed that PM Narendra Modi's rally in Ferozepur would have been the most historic rally ever. Shekhawat further said that in connivance with the police, political activists not only allowed the people to go to the rally but also blocked PM Modi's path.

Union Minister Shekhawat said that doing so has strengthened the resolve of BJP workers. This was stated by the Union Minister after inducting some Punjab leaders into the BJP in Delhi. Former Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MLA Arvind Khanna, SAD leader Gurdeep Singh Gosha and former Amritsar councillor Dharmavik Sareen joined the BJP on Tuesday in the presence of Union ministers Hardeep Singh Puri and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.

PM Modi's Ferozepur rally had to be cancelled and returned on Wednesday last week. PM Modi's convoy was on its way by road due to heavy rains but some protesters had blocked the flyover on the way. Due to this, PM Modi had to stand on the flyover for 15-20 minutes. He had to cancel the Ferozepur rally and return after the major security lapse in the Prime Minister's security.
