New Delhi: The joy of the historic victory of 16 December 1971 still increases the excitement in the mind of every countryman. We all celebrate this day as Victory Day. On this very day, India had hurt Pakistan. Today is the day to salute the bravery of the soldiers. Tributes are also being paid to soldiers everywhere from Delhi to Bangalore.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh along with CDS General Anil Chauhan, Army Chief General Manoj Pandey, Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar and Vice Chief of Air Force Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh laid wreath at the National War Memorial. Reports say that Vijay Diwas is celebrated every year across the country on 16 December to commemorate the victory of the Indian Armed Forces in the India-Pakistan war of 1971.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah paid tribute to the soldiers in Bengaluru on the occasion of Vijay Diwas.
