Maoists call for Telangana bandh on July 25 for release of revolutionary writer

Hyderabad: Telangana Maoist Committee has recently placed a big demand. They say that the revolutionary writer and poet Varavara Rao (81), who is jailed in Maharashtra and suffering from Corona, should be released. In support of this demand, it has called for a Telangana bandh on 25 July. The Maoist Committee has also demanded an unconditional withdrawal of all the cases registered against Varvara Rao.

Maharashtra Police arrested Varavara Rao in the month of August in the year 2018 in the Bhima-Koregaon violent incident. After that, he was sent to the Yerwada jail of Pune. He was then shifted to Taloja Jail in Mumbai. He got corona infected while in jail. Due to which the jail authorities had got him admitted to JJ Hospital. While his illness did not improve, he was admitted to Nanavati Hospital. The treatment is being done at Nanavati Hospital at this time.

Meanwhile, the Maoist Committee has demanded the release of Varavara. Not only this, the Maoist Committee has issued an open letter to the media. Simultaneously, the Maoists have also demanded the government to withdraw the Gray Hounds forces, which are kumbing in the forests. On the other hand, the Mumbai High Court has issued an order to present a report on the health of Varvara Rao which has been sent to NIA and Government of Maharashtra.
