Mastermind of Haldwani Violence Arrested After Being Found in Delhi

The mastermind behind the violence in Banbhoopura, Haldwani, Abdul Malik, has been arrested. Abdul Malik, the accused of the violence, is claimed by his lawyers Ajay Bahuguna and Shalabh Pandey to have been apprehended by the Uttarakhand Police from Delhi. Following the Banbhoopura violence on February 8, Abdul Malik had been on the run.

After the arrest of Abdul Malik, the mastermind of the Haldwani violence, a bail plea has been filed. In the court of the Haldwani Additional District Judge First, an advance bail plea of Abdul Malik has been submitted. Abdul Malik's lawyers have filed this advance bail plea. Meanwhile, the hearing on the advance bail plea is scheduled for February 27.

It should be noted that recently a case was filed against Abdul Malik, the main accused in the Haldwani violence, along with his wife and six others for cheating and conspiracy. Abdul Malik had been absconding since the violence, and the police had also seized his property.

The Nainital police had issued posters of the main accused of the Haldwani Banbhoopura violence. The posters identified 9 culprits, including Abdul Malik (mastermind), Tasleem, Wasim alias Happa, Ayaz Ahmad, Abdul Moied, Raees alias Dattu, Shakil Ansari, Moukin Saifi, and Zia ul Rahman. It should be noted that during the demolition of an illegal madrasa in Banbhoopura, Haldwani, several people were arrested in connection with the outbreak of violence.

During the removal of encroachments in Banbhoopura, miscreants attacked the police, administration, and media personnel. In this violence, 6 people lost their lives and nearly 300 were injured. After the violence, the police had apprehended 42 miscreants based on CCTV footage and recovered illegal weapons and cartridges from them.
