Mehbooba Mufti is under house arrest once more

Srinagar: Mehbooba Mufti, the former Chief Minister of Kashmir and the current President of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said on Twitter on Thursday that she has been placed under house arrest. Suhail Bukhari and Najmu Saqib, according to Mufti, have been 'arrested.' 'Using innocent people as human shields and refusing their families the right to bury their loved ones indicates that the Indian government has descended to new depths of inhumanity,' she said.

"Again under house arrest & PDPs @SAAQQIIB & @Suhail_Bukhari too have been arrested”, Mehbooba tweeted. The practise of employing innocent citizens as human shields and then denying their families the right to a decent funeral demonstrates that the Indian government has reached new lows in human depravity.

"Their storey was built on lies from the beginning in order to avoid accountability. They don't want to be held responsible for their deeds, therefore they're silencing those who speak out against injustice and horrors." The Jammu and Kashmir government authorised a magisterial investigation into the Hyderpora encounter, in which four people were murdered, including a Pakistani terrorist and his collaborator, according to police.
