Amid the ongoing political turmoil in several states in the country, minister Jayant Patil in the Maharashtra government claimed that 14-15 BJP MLAs in the state were in touch with Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi.

According to media reports, the Congress has accused the BJP of running 'Operation Lotus' to topple the Kamal Nath government of Madhya Pradesh, after which Patil made this remark. Maharashtra NCP chief Patil also accused the BJP of being rash for power.

On this matter, Patil told reporters outside the state legislature complex in Mumbai on Wednesday that 14-15 MLAs of the opposition party are in touch with us. Even today we are in touch. We have to do their work because we have good relations with them. We understand their mindset. He said that even then, it is not right that we hunt them. We do not wish to make mistakes. Our consideration is that the government should run. At the same time, BJP emerged as the largest party in the assembly elections held in October last year, but Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena severed ties with BJP for the post of Chief Minister, due to which BJP could not form government in Maharashtra.
