An AN-32 aircraft of Air Force could not be found even three days of missing

New Delhi: No clues of Air Force plane AN-32 which was lost near China border has been found even after three days. The plane was carrying 13 people, including seven officers. The search operation is being conducted on a war-footing and a fleet of navy and army helicopters along with Air Force aircrafts have been pressed into service to locate the aircraft. At the same time, ISRO's Cartosat and Resat are also being assisted.

According to the information, the Air Force has not been successful so far. Air Force spokesman Group Captain Anupam Banerjee said, the search operation has been intensified despite the challenges of dense forest, difficult terrain and bad weather. The information received from the air sensors is being closely studied and the air and ground teams are searching for the aircraft. However, due to bad weather, the search operation was hampered by helicopters and subsequently it had to be postponed.

With this, two additional Sukhoi-30 aircraft were also deployed on the third day. Sukhoi and C-130 J  will also continue to detect the location of the aircraft. In addition, Army, ITBP and local police personnel are also conducting continuous operations. An air Force AN-32 cargo plane flew from Jorhat in Assam on Monday to Menchua in Arunachal Pradesh. The plane was snapped contact with the ground staff 35 minutes after takeoff.
