Aizawl: A total of 11,143 cases of infection in the state have gone up to 11,143 after 207 new cases of corona infection were reported in Mizoram on Thursday. An official said at least 1,963 samples were tested in the last 24 hours and the infection rate has been recorded at 10.54 per cent. He explained that 206 cases were detected through rapid antigen investigations, while one was confirmed through the Truenet facility. The death toll in the state is 34.

Out of the new cases, 94 cases were reported in Aizawl district. This was followed by 48 cases of Langtalai, 44 cases of Lunglei, 10 patients from Sarchhip, six cases from Kolasib and five cases from Mamit. The official said more than 30 of the new cases of infection are children. He said 148 patients were found during contract tracing of infected people. The state is currently undergoing treatment for 2,817 people, while 8,292 patients have recovered. According to Dr. Laljawami, the state's immunization officer, 250,244 people have been given the first dose of covid vaccine, and 52,040 of them have been given the second dose.

According to a health ministry report, 2,11,298 new cases of corona virus infection have been registered in the country in the last 24 hours. The infection has killed 3,847 people. 283,135 people recovered across the country on Wednesday. With these new figures, the total cases of corona across the country have reached 27369093.
