Lucknow: The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has suspended 5 police officers, including the deputy jailer, who took care of former BSP MLA and mafia kingpin Mukhtar Ansari in jail. On Monday night, District Magistrate Anurag Patel and Superintendent of Police Abhinandan had reached Banda Mandal Jail for surprise inspection with heavy police force, during which they had to wait for about 15 minutes as the gate was closed, due to which their mercury rose and they were in jail. An objectionable situation was suspected.

In fact, at around 9 pm on Monday, the District Magistrate and SP of Banda district along with heavy police force had arrived for a surprise inspection of the jail. Due to which there was a stir in the jail administration. After reaching the jail, the DM-SP had to wait for about 15 minutes. As soon as the lock was opened, both the officers inspected the jail premises closely, where they found a large number of Dussehri mangoes and kiwis and some other items in Mukhtar's secluded barricade (numbers 15 and 16). Along with this, the jail personnel engaged in the security of Mukhtar were also found without body cams. Both the officers kept inspecting inside the jail premises for more than one and a half hours. When the DM and SP interrogated the current deputy jailer, they got an equivocal answer. They came out of the jail premises at around 10:40 am, after which a joint report was sent to the government on Tuesday by both the officials. On which DG Jail Anand Kumar suspended 4 jail security personnel including Deputy Jailor Vireshwar Pratap Singh. Jailor Virendra Kumar has confirmed this.

At the same time, the jailer says on this matter that, 'I have just arrived after returning from leave, the delay in opening the gate was because, the jailer who was in my charge had the key and there is nothing special, and Four security personnel and deputy jailer have been suspended for not installing body cams. I have reached, looking at the situation. On the question of getting the goods in Mukhtar Ansari's barracks in the jail premises, he said, 'Mangoes and kiwis can also be given by the family members, all the prisoners are given their relatives, which are delivered to them safely. At the moment I am investigating.
