Mumbai: The Hansa Research Group in the TRP scam has made very serious allegations against the Mumbai Police. The group has said that they are being pressured by the Mumbai Police to make a false statement against the Republic Media Network. According to the report of the Bar and Bench, the company operating the Bar-O-Meter (Broadcast Audience Research Council) of BARC referred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), instead of Mumbai Police, investigating the matter as it moved the Bombay High Court.

In the petition filed in the Bombay High Court, Hansa Research has alleged that the police are adopting a tactic to pressure their employees to issue fake statements. A document released by Republic TV is calling it fake. Hansa Research's report, based on which an FIR was lodged in the TRP case, referring to the name of India Today, said that the Bar-O-Meter had given money to households to watch India Today channel.

The contrary to the allegation made by the police, the name of Republic TV was not included in it. Apart from this, it is not even mentioned in the FIR. The petition stated, "The petitioners are kept in the crime branch continuously for a long time and threatened with arrest and are repeatedly pressured to make false statements."
