THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KeralaGodsOwnCountry - The renowned "Museum of the Moon" will be among the wonders of science, technology, and art on display at the upcoming Global Science Festival Kerala (GSFK), which is being organised by the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology, and Environment (KSCSTE) in partnership with various State and international science agencies.

The first-ever GSFK, billed as Asia's largest science festival, will take place for 45 days beginning in December 2023 in the Life Sciences Park in the State capital, according to Amuseum ArtScience, a foundation that works with the government to organise the festival. British artist Luke Jerram created the inflatable installation piece "Museum of the Moon" in 2016.

An expert, student, and enthusiast from all over the world will be able to celebrate the wonders of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics at GSFK 2023, according to museum trustee Ajith Kumar.

With its sophisticated science exhibits, expertly organised and housed in the "Life Science" pavilion, GSFK 2023 aims to enthral guests. The festival will feature huge walk-ins, digital interactive platforms, replicas, and specimens on a 250,000 square foot space. A science congress, compelling cultural performances, and nighttime observations will also be available to guests, according to Mr. Kumar.

According to a press release from Amuseum, a trust that promotes art and science, the science extravaganza is being organised in collaboration with national and international museums, national and international science exhibition agencies, Kerala Sasthra Sanketika Sarvakalasala, Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation, Kerala Sastra Sahitya Parishad, and various national and international organisations and associations, including the renowned "Museum of the Moon."

With the end goal of creating a "Science City" that operates on a national scale, GSFK is anticipated to act as the initial stage towards the establishment of a permanent science exhibition hub in Thiruvananthapuram.

A series of educational activities will be held as part of the festival in schools all around the State beginning in July 2023 to spread the festival's basic values and message to children, according to the press release.

On June 6, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan introduced the festival's official logo, which was modelled after Charles Darwin's famous "Tree of Life" drawing. Darwin was a British naturalist who established the theory of biological evolution through natural selection. A 10 crore rupee estimated budget is used to organise GSFK.
