New Delhi: Delhi's Arvind Kejriwal government on Monday (April 4, 2022) allowed Muslim employees of Delhi Jal Board (DJB) to take short leave of two hours a day during Ramzan, which has been criticized on social media. Taking has now been withdrawn. According to media reports, DJB had decided to give short leave to Muslim employees during Ramzan, for which an official order was also issued by the Jal Board.

According to the order, this short leave daily during Ramzan could have been up to two hours, but now due to the criticism of the Aam Aadmi Party's policy of Muslim appeasement, the Delhi Jal Board has decided to take less than 24 hours on Tuesday. The order has been withdrawn on 5th April, 2022). In the order issued on 04 April on behalf of the Assistant Commissioner of Jal Board, Virendra Singh, it was said that, 'The competent authority shall give permission to Muslim employees by the concerned DDO/controlling officer during the days of Ramzan i.e. from 03 April to 2 May 2022 or Eid ul. Approval has been given to allow short leave of two hours daily till the date of Fitr.

However, it is also being said that it was also clarified in this order that this short leave will be subject to the condition that they will complete their work during the remaining office hours so that the work of the office is not affected.
