Guwahati: While some fundamentalist and radical-minded people are engaged in provoking the masses and dividing them in the name of religion, there is also an example of communal harmony from different corners of the Indian land that teaches unity in diversity. Keeps coming, which is like a slap on the face of those fundamentalists. A similar example has emerged from Assam.

Guwahati in Assam is a unique example of social harmony. A Muslim family in Rangmahal village here has been taking care of the Shiva temple for the last 500 years. People of both Hindu and Muslim faith come to this temple to pay their obeisance. There is the talk of this Shiva temple in the whole area. Matibar Rahman, who has been the caretaker of the Shiva temple for many generations, says, 'This temple is 500 years old.

They say that from that time on, our family takes care of this temple. People of all religions come here to pray. Hearing the fame of the temple, devotees come here from far and wide. This is not the first time a Muslim family is looking after a temple. There have been many such reports also in the past. That is why India is called Ganga Jamuni Tehzeeb's country because people of different sects live together here.
