The goalkeeper of the Indian women's hockey team, Savita, has told about her performance. Goalkeeper Savita has said that her best performance is yet to come and that her team wants to forget the failure of the Rio Olympics by creating history in the Tokyo Olympics. The Indian women's hockey team qualified for the Rio Olympics 2016 after 36 years but was eliminated from the group stage.
Savita has said in a Hockey India release, "My best performance is yet to come. I want to do the best for my team at the Tokyo Olympics so that we can forget the failure of the Rio Olympics." She said, "At that time we were brand new and we made mistakes, but in 2021 in Tokyo, we have a chance to create history." The Indian team remains at the ninth position in the FIH World Rankings. Savita, who has been an integral part of the Indian team for the last 12 years, said that she was not so confident at the start of her career, she said, "In the beginning, I was less confident and obsessive about the game than others. However, my love for the game continued to grow with time and I believe that my best performance is yet to be done. "
The Indian hockey teams were at the Sports Authority of India center during the lockdown. Savita said that during this time she analyzed the game of other teams. She said that this break taught her sobriety and explained the importance of finding happiness in small moments in life.
