Veteran tennis player Rafael Nadal is yet to fully recover from a hip injury, and due to this, he will not be able to participate in the Madrid Open next week. Twenty-two-time Grand Slam champion Nadal was injured during the Australian Open and has not played since January.
Due to injury, he could not play in the Indian Wells, Miami, Monte Carlo, and Barcelona tournaments. Madrid Open starts on Monday, in which Nadal is the 5-time champion. "Because of this injury, I was supposed to be out for 6 to 8 weeks, but I have been out for the last 14 weeks," Nadal wrote on his Instagram page in Spanish.
He has further said about this, 'We followed the doctors' advice, but I could not recover from the injury as they said, and now we find ourselves living in difficult circumstances.' The 36-year-old Nadal did not give any information about whether he would be able to play in the French Open on May 28.
