Tamil Nadu:  Nalini Sriharan, a convict in the killing of Ex-Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, has appealed to the Central and Tamil Nadu governments to release the 4 Sri Lankan nationals who were recently released from jail and sent to the special camp in Tamil Nadu's Trichy.

Nalini also said that she cannot believe that she was mentioned in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case and distanced herself from it.

"I appeal to the state and central governments to free my husband and the other four Sri Lankan nationals held at the Trichy Special Camp. Despite having been released from prison, this particular camp still feels like a prison "Speaking to the media, she said.

After being released from custody in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, Santhan, Murugan, Robert Payas, and Jayakumar have been kept in a separate camp in Trichy for foreigners. They were personally greeted by the wives of Murugan, Nalini, and Jayakumar, Shanthi, today in Trichy.

Nalini identified herself as a member of the "Congress family," saying that they were upset about the deaths of Rajiv and Indira Gandhi, two previous prime ministers.

"Our release is opposed by several persons. A Cong family raises us. Our family didn't eat because we were upset about the deaths of Rajiv and Indira Gandhi. I'm unable to recognise my involvement in Rajiv Gandhi's murder. I shouldn't be accountable for that, "She continued by saying that nobody knows who killed Rajiv Gandhi.

Nalini said, Shantan told her that he was heading to Sri Lanka when they first met. Additionally, Nalini stated that she and her spouse Murugan want to visit London.

"Jayakumar and Robert Payas are undecided about their future as of now. I didn't want to embarrass those who have done good for us and hence  I didn't meet the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin yet," she said. She stated that she intends to move to London and spend the rest of her days with her child.

"I want to move to London and spend the rest of my life with my daughter because we have been apart for almost 16 years. Despite having been freed from prison, this particular camp still feels like a prison. The four should thus be removed from this camp as soon as feasible "She said.

As the longest-serving woman prisoner serving a life sentence in the nation, Sriharan was freed from the Vellore Prison on November 12 as a result of a Supreme Court decision on November 11.
