Indian boxer Nandini (over 81kg) has had to settle for a bronze medal at the 73rd Strandja Memorial Tournament in Sofia, Bulgaria. In the semi-finals held on Friday night, Nandini has suffered a 0-5 defeat to Lajjat Kunigebaywa of Kazakhstan. With the defeat, his campaign in the tournament has also come to an end.  

So far, only 2 Indian boxers Nikhat Zareen (52kg) and Neetu (48kg) have reached the finals in the tournament.  In Sunday's final, Zareen will take on 3-time European Championships Medalist From Tetiana Kobb of Ukraine and Neetu will take on former World Championship bronze winner Irika Priciandaro.

Earlier, former junior world champions Nikhat Zareen (52kg) and Neetu (48kg) have managed to book their place in the semi-finals of the ongoing 73rd Strandza Memorial Tournament in Sofia, Bulgaria. Nikhat has won over England's Charlie Davison and Neetu has won over Italy's Roberta Bonati 5-0. With these two players entering the semi-finals, India can have three medals in the tournament. On Tuesday, Nandini (81+) had secured her first medal for the country.  

Sumit and Anamika lose in the first round: Here Indian boxers Sumit Kundu (75kg) and Anamika (50kg) have suffered defeats in their opening round bouts. Sumit lost 0-5 to the reigning world and European champion Aleksandr Khejniak of Ukraine in the pre-quarterfinals. Anamika has crashed out of the last eight matches after losing 1-4 to Romania's Romessa Baulem of Algeria.  
 
Russia invaded Ukraine on Thursday. In this regard, a member of the Indian team has also said that "at the moment, the impact of the military conflict is not being seen here". Ukrainian boxers have started participating in the events. The weight gain has been completed in the morning.'’
