Upset over the abuses of the spectators, star player Naomi Osaka has suffered a defeat against Russia's Veronica Kudermetova in the second round of the BNP Paribas Open tennis tournament. Osaka suffered a 6-0, 6-4 defeat in straight sets in a one-sided match. When Osaka was trailing in the first set, a female onlooker abused her from the stand. Japan's player Osaka, after which the chair approached the umpire and asked him to take action, but the umpire said he did not know who it was and that action could not be taken.  
 
Some time ago, it was reported that Naomi Osaka had managed to beat Sloane Stephens 3.6, 6.1, 6.2 to make it to the second round of the BNP Paribus Open tennis. After trailing 2.0 in the third set, Osaka returned with three breakpoints and has won the match within 2 hours. In this set, she broke Stephen's serve three times.

Osaka is playing here for the first time since 2019. She has not played a single tournament so far since losing the last 32 at the Australian Open in January. Osaka, a four-time Grand Slam champion, withdrew from the French Open last year due to mental health reasons. Kazakhstan's Yulia Putintseva, Daria Seville and Tereja Martinakova also won the first round. In the men's category, MacKenzie McDonald, Jenson Brooksby, Jack Sok and J J Wolff of the United States have also advanced to the next round.
