Recently, Naseeruddin Shah claimed that hatred towards the Muslim community is being "cleverly" planted in people's brains. He continued, calling it "fashionable" and saying that these are troubling times. The actor frequently criticizes the party in power.

Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah recently expressed his worries about the rise of "undisguised propaganda" in movies, calling it a worrisome reflection of the country's pervasive Islamophobia. Shah, who is well-known for his frank criticism of the BJP-led government, thinks that anti-Muslim sentiment is being manipulated and has turned into a "fashionable" trend.

He voiced concern about some movies and TV shows being used to propagate propaganda and misinformation, claiming that the pervasive Islamophobia in society ultimately affects election results.

In his most recent film, Taj: Divided by Blood, Naseeruddin Shah plays Akbar. Aditi Rao Hydari, Sandhya Mridul, Aashim Gulati, and Dharmendra are also featured. For a second season, the Zee5 program has been renewed.

The veteran actor wishes that the contentious religious angle would soon "wear off."  “I mean how spineless is the election commission of ours? Who doesn’t even dare utter a word. If there had been a Muslim leader who had said, ‘Allah Hu Akbar bol ke button dabao’, sh*t would have hit the fan. But here our Prime Minister goes ahead and says things like this and yet he loses. So, I have hope that this will wear off. But it’s definitely, at the moment, at its peak. It’s been a very clever card played by this government, and it has worked. Let’s see how long it continues to work,” he also said.

Naseeruddin Shah has previously made remarks regarding the Indian government. The actor is renowned for making provocative claims.

“But here our Prime Minister goes ahead and says things like this and yet he loses. So, I have hope that this will wear off. But it’s definitely, at the moment, at its peak. It’s been a very clever card played by this government, and it has worked. Let’s see how long it continues to work," he concluded.
