Home Ministry gave written reply in Lok Sabha, says 'No decision to prepare NRIC'

Protests have been going on in NRC for a long time in India. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the government has responded to the National Citizenship Register in the Lok Sabha. In its written reply in the Lok Sabha, the Home Ministry said that the Central Government has not yet taken any decision to prepare NRC at the national level.

According to media reports, Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai said in a written reply, 'Till now the government has not taken any decision to prepare the National Register of Indian Citizens (NRIC) at the national level. NRC and NPR including Citizenship Amendment Act Opposition parties are trying their best to surround the government in Parliament on such issues. There was a lot of uproar in this issue on both the houses of Parliament on Tuesday. As soon as the proceedings of the House began, the opposition parties united and raised slogans against the government to the CAA, NRC and NPR. Also demanded to discuss it immediately.

Today is the third day of the budget session in the Lok Sabha. The session began on 31 January with the President's address. Whereas on February 1, the government presented the budget. On Monday, Congress leader Anand Sharma in Parliament clearly said that if the ruling party is not ready to discuss separately the incidents of upheaval and violence with students in the country regarding CAA-NPR-NRC, then move into the Rajya Sabha. Will not go away.
