Chief of Bihar's powerful party Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) Chirag Paswan said that the government should try to explain the difference between the Citizenship (Amendment) Act and the National Civil Register (NRC) to the people. He further said that this is because the government is unable to remove misunderstandings among a significant class.

The media report urged the government to persuade and communicate with the protesters, as well as tell them that the Citizenship (Amendment) Act and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) are not linked. Paswan tweeted that the party has discussed the current situation in the country and informed the Home Ministry about the same.

Paswan in his statement further said in the tweet that the manner in which there is a protest against the addition of CAB and NRC in the country, it is clear that the government has failed to clear up the confusion in a significant section of the society. He further said that it is the responsibility of the government to persuade the protesters.
