Raipur: Today is the first day of the Martyrs' Week of the Naxals and on the first day in Pakhanjaur, the Naxalite bandh is seen to be ineffective. People are coming out of the house to the Haat Bazaar and the shops in the city are also open. On the other hand, villagers in village Kusubehi, which falls under The Attapalli tehsil of Maharashtra bordering Chhattisgarh, have fiercely opposed Naxalism.

Posters planted by naxalites have been cited by the villagers as they shouted slogans in Murdabad. It may be mentioned that the Naxalites had put up posters in these areas with the intention of creating panic. In which the Naxalites had urged the public to celebrate the Naxalite Martyrs Week from July 28 to August 3.

The Naxalites had never protested in the entire region before. This is for the first time that villagers have openly opposed Naxalism by going out of their homes to beat the fear of the Naxalites. The posters of Maoists have been torched by the villagers and shouting slogans against Naxalism. Naxalism is also raising the slogan of Murdabad. Somewhere the villagers' movement against Naxalism is a sign of the naxalite-free region, the region and the country in the future.
