Mumbai: An inquiry has been launched into the allegations against Sameer Wankhede, zonal director of the narcotics control bureau in Mumbai. Prabhakar Sail, a witness in the cruise drugs case that Sameer Wankhede is currently investigating, has alleged that a deal worth Rs 25 crore was made in return for the release of Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan.

Prabhakar Sail had created a stir in the money transaction by naming Sameer Wankhede. After which the vigilance team of NCB is now investigating the matter. Earlier, the Mumbai Police has not registered an FIR in the case and started its investigation. NCB has constituted a team of 5 members to look into the matter. The team reached Mumbai from Delhi on Wednesday. Deputy Director-General of NCB Dnyaneshwar Singh said that a team of 5 members has reached Mumbai from Delhi.

He said the team has been formed to ascertain the veracity of Prabhakar Sail's allegations. Documents and all records have been taken from the NCB office. Witnesses have also been called. We have started investigating the case and the statements of the witnesses will be taken up soon. Dnyaneshwar Singh said that any witness required in the investigation will be called but I will not name anyone yet.
