She remained a councilor till the year 2017. In the last election, Congress had cut his ticket. Even after this, she remained attached to the Congress. She has been very vocal against the CAA.

Bullets were fired in the presence of Ishrat Jahan: There is an allegation that in the presence of former Congress councilor Ishrat Jahan in Khajuri of the Jagatpuri area on 26 February 2020 amidst violence in the North-Eastern district. According to the FIR registered in this case, Ishrat Jahan, while instigating the crowd, said that we would like to die, but we will not move from here, no matter what the police do, we will take freedom. Meanwhile, a man named Khalid, who was among the protesters, told the crowd to stone the police.

After this, the police started throwing stones and bullets started firing. Apart from Ishrat, Khalid, Sameer Pradhan, Salim, Sharif, Vikram Thakur, Azar alias Bhura, Ishaq, Haji Iqbal, Hashim, Sameer, Bilal, Yameen Kular Wala, Sabu Ansari, and others have been charged in this case. Various sections have been imposed against all including riots, attempt to murder. Some of these people have been arrested by the police. Some absconding are going on there.
