Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra has once again completed the task of hoisting the flag on the world stage. He has become the world's number one player in the latest men's javelin throw rankings released by World Athletics. For the first time in his career, Neeraj Chopra has achieved this feat. Neeraj Chopra has defeated Grenada's legendary javelin thrower Anderson Peters in this case.

Neeraj Chopra is currently at the top of the latest World Athletics Rankings with 1455 points, while Anderson Peters is the world's second javelin thrower with 1433 points. He is 22 points behind Neeraj. Jakub Vadlejch of the Czech Republic, who won the silver medal in the Tokyo Olympics, is at the third place in the world rankings with 1416 points.

The 25-year-old Chopra had reached world No. 2 on August 30 last year, but has not been able to overtake Peters since then. However, he has also won the Diamond League 2022 final in Zurich the very next month and has become the first Indian player to win the tournament. At the same time, now on May 5, he has also won the Doha Diamond League title by throwing 88.67 meters. Due to this, he has become the number one javelin thrower.
