The contestants paid homage to their favourite icons in the most recent episode of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10. Tonight's performers included Niti Taylor, Shilpa Shinde, Amruta Khanvilkar, Paras Kalnawat, and Gunjan Sinha. This year, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa has added a number of new segments, one of which involves the "Golden Chair" as well as obtaining "Jhalak passports" and the "Sahi Hai" ticket. Every week, a contestant and their choreographer partner must win a title.

This week, Gashmeer Mahajani and his choreographer partner Romsha Singh took home the Golden Chair based on the performances of the contestants. To obtain this position, they overthrew Nia Sharma and her partner Tarun Raj. Nia resisted leaving in jest while Gashmeer and Romsha sat on the chair, and Tarun lifted her down. He made a tribute to Shah Rukh Khan, the legendary actor from Bollywood, while speaking about Gashmeer Mahajani. He and Romsha danced to the well-known Dil Se song "Chal Chaiyya Chaiyya." The judges were awestruck by the performance and were greatly moved by his act.

At the Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10 premiere, Gashmeer Mahajani gave Romsha Singh praise for her choreography. "Every day for 1.5 hours, my partner (choreographer) Romsha Singh makes me do stretches," he said. I genuinely cry and perspire. I'm dancing to music that isn't normally my style. I adore my partner because she pushes me to try new genres as well. My preferred style is bollyhop, but we're not doing that. In the first episode, we performed contemporary and freestyle, which is something I've never done before. We have begun stepping outside of our comfort zones so that we can challenge ourselves to perform even better as the show progresses. In my second performance, I'm performing jazz, which, once more, I've never done. Because Jhalak is all about experimenting with yourself, we'll be trying the international and Indian genres that I haven't previously explored.

For the uninitiated, Gashmeer Mahajani is a professional dancer who, up until Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10, had not been in training.
