New Delhi: The Delhi government has declared a night curfew amid rising cases of corona and Omicron. There will be restrictions in Delhi between 11 pm and 5 am from Monday. The Delhi government has taken the decision as a precautionary measure even before it goes on yellow alert. If the corona infection rate remains at 0.50 percent on Monday for the second consecutive day, the Odd-Even formula will be introduced in the markets with metro running at a capacity of 50 percent, as well as many other restrictions.

The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has given the green signal to the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAB) from the possible third wave of the corona epidemic. Under the graph, different types of restrictions have been prescribed based on corona infection rate, the number of active patients and patients admitted in hospitals. The system itself will be activated as the prescribed number of cases increases. The first phase will come into effect when the transition rate comes to 0.50 percent for two consecutive days. The infection rate has crossed the 0.50 percent mark on Sunday for the first time amid rising cases of coronavirus. In view of this, the government has announced a night curfew from Monday as a precautionary measure.

According to officials, if the infection rate exceeds 0.50 percent on Monday also, the yellow alert will come into force. This will enable the metro to run at a capacity of 50%. Cinema halls, multiplexes, theatres, conference rooms, banquet halls, spa and wellness clinics, yoga institutes, and gyms will be closed along with educational institutions. Night curfew will be imposed from 10 pm to 5 am and shops and shopping goods will run on Odd-Even formula during the day.
