New Delhi:Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari today made a statement in the lower house of Parliament on the 'vehicle scrap policy'. Meanwhile, Nitin Gadkari said, the policy will help reduce pollution as well as reduce the cost of vehicles by 40%.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari further said that the scrap policy will create scrap centres in the country. This will bring vehicles to India for scrap from smaller countries in the world where it does not have access. This will promote recycling of aluminium, copper and rubber in the country and give vehicle companies raw material from recycling, making the cost of vehicles up to 40%. The Union minister said that 2-wheeler companies in the country, including Hero, Bajaj and TVS, export about 50% of their total production.

He said that the promotion of recycling in scrap policy will further reduce their cost and make their products more competitive in the world. Nitin Gadkari said the vehicle scrap policy will become the hub of auto mobile in the coming 5 years. Fitness and pollution centres will be set up to check the fitness of vehicles in each district.
