Patna: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar is out on a social reform campaign at this time. Under this campaign, he is telling the goodness of the law of prohibition in the state to the public. Apart from this, he is also appealing to men to stay away from alcohol. In this sequence, he was addressing a public meeting in Samastipur. Where he has made a big announcement for the persons engaged in the production of Neera (palm juice).

Addressing the same public meeting, CM Nitish Kumar said that the state government would give one-time financial assistance of one lakh rupees each to the persons engaged in the production of Neera (palm juice). Addressing a public meeting in Samastipur under the social reform campaign, Nitish said, 'Do not extract toddy from the palm tree, but produce neera which is beneficial for health. Whoever does the work of neera production, will be given assistance of up to Rs 1 lakh under the Sustainable Earnings Scheme and under this scheme, one thousand rupees will also be given for 7 months to start business. ,

The same Nitish Kumar government on 5 April 2016 banned the manufacture, trade, storage, transportation, sale and consumption of liquor in the state. The CM said, 'We should run a continuous campaign in favor of prohibition of alcohol, against child marriage and dowry system, so that there should be awareness among the people. After that, due to a joint review meeting of Samastipur, Darbhanga and Madhubani districts of Darbhanga division in Samastipur Collectorate meeting room, CM said that Neera is a healthy and useful drink. He said, 'We had started the work of Neera production in a good way. In Nalanda district also a great work was done regarding Neera production.
