PATNA:  Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has inaugurated the first phase of the 20.5-kilometer-long JP Ganga Path.
During his inauguration speech, the Minister said, the JP Ganga Path will be completed by the beginning of 2024 to help people.  "A section of the 20-kilometre-long JP Ganga Path is now complete. It will be completed by the beginning of 2024 to provide people with assistance... work is being done well... expansion is planned on both sides," he said.

The JP Ganga path, also known as the Patna Marine Drive and Ganga driveway, is a 20.5 km expressway. It was on  Jayaprakash Narayan's birth anniversary in 2013, that the construction of the JP Ganga Path began.
The project is expected to cost Rs 3,160 crore.

The chief minister also inaugurated 1.30-km link of Atal Path project under Phase-II, near Digha to connect it with JP Setu and Ganga Driveway. The project costs at around Rs.70crore to the state exchequer. The Atal Path, which begins at the R-Block roundabout near Patna junction, went up to Digha on the stretch which was earlier occupied by the Patna-Digha railway line.
