Bengaluru Violence: No decision taken on banning disputed organizations, report awaited

Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has refused to take any decision in view of banning some organizations in connection with the August 11 violence in some areas of Bengaluru. The government has cited the lack of concrete reports about the involvement of these institutions from the police and other departments.

Law Minister JC Madhuswamy said after the meeting with the state cabinet, "We talked in detail but we could not take any concrete decision in this regard because we do not have any report in this regard right now (from the police or other government department) and So after the talk, we did not take any decision on it. Madhuswamy said that the ministers talked in detail but no decision has been taken regarding banning the organizations. He has said that the final decision will be taken only after getting the report from the police and other departments".

3 of the bullets fired by the police after the violence in DJ Halli and the surrounding area on August 11 after a Congress MLA in Bengaluru allegedly shared a controversial post on social media. People had died and one of the injured later succumbed in the hospital. In this inflammatory violence, rioters burnt Pulakeshinagar MLA R Srinivas Murthy's residence and DJ Halli police station and set fire to several private and police vehicles.
