Bangalore: The Belagavi Municipal Corporation has issued an order to vacate a mosque here following threats from the Hindu outfit Sri Ram Sena. According to the report, the 'disputed' Fatima Masjid was threatened to be demolished by Pramod Muthalik of the Hindu organization. They had given a week's time and said that if the mosque is not demolished, they will enter the mosque with the people.
Let me tell you, Fatima Masjid is located in the residential area here, which Sri Ram Sena is opposing. The Municipal Corporation has issued a notice to shut down the mosque located in Sarathi Nagar. The Commissioner of Belagavi District Municipal Corporation has sent a notice to the Waqf Board in this regard. Earlier, Sri Ram Sene chief Pramod Muthalik had claimed that the mosque located in a residential area was built in violation of land rules.
He had given the corporation a week's time and threatened to demolish the mosque if it was not vacated. He had said that if the corporation fails to take action, he will go and demolish the mosque with his team. Pramod said, ''I am telling the Belagavi Municipal Corporation that if you do not demolish the mosque within a week, we Sri Ram Sena will raise slogans of 'Sarathi Colony Chalo' to demolish the mosque. Let's see who stops us."
