Mumbai: A big news is coming out of Maharashtra, in which BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) has said that all shops and establishments in Mumbai will have to include Marathi in their nameplate. Apart from this, the letters written in Marathi should not be smaller than the letters of the rest of the language. This change is to be completed by 31 May 2022.

Also, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has said that the name of any great personality cannot be written in liquor shops. The name or photo of any fort will not be displayed in the signboard of the shop. Recently, a circular was issued in this regard. The shops in which the names or pictures of people or forts have been put, they have been given time till June 30 to remove them.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has said that a meeting of shop owners along with members of trade unions will be convened to ensure compliance of the order. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation said, all assistant commissioners have been directed to create awareness among people about the change in signboards at the entrances of divisional offices as well as at crowded places.
