NEW DELHI: When it comes to waiting lounge of the railway station, you have a picture of a crowded hall with shabby chairs in the middle of the dirt. But now the Indian Railways has made significant changes in the facilities and conveniences of its waiting halls to clear the picture of the passengers.

As part of these changes, IRCTC has formulated a plan to set up executive lounges at various railway stations in the country. Under the scheme, the work of setting up of executive lots at three railway stations in the country has not only been completed but has also been opened for passengers. The three railway stations where these executive lounges have been constructed include Ahmedabad, Tirupati and Jaipur railway stations.

According to a senior Indian Railways official, IRCTC has fixed a fee of 50 rupees for the use of executive classes. In which, a traveller can avail executive lounges with state-of-the-art facilities only by paying 50 rupees. He said, an open kitchen has also been set up in the executive lounge where passengers can enjoy the taslysed meal at a very low fee.
