NDRF fully prepared to tackle super cyclone 'Amfan', team deployed in Odisha-Bengal

Kolkata: Cyclone Amfan, which rose in the Bay of Bengal, has now turned into a super cyclone. Which is now moving rapidly along the coasts of West Bengal and Odisha. The Meteorological Department estimates that the Amphon can cause great devastation by reaching the peak. At the same time, the NDRF has also completed preparations to deal with the cyclonic storm.

NDRF Chief SN Pradhan told that 41 NDRF teams are deployed in West Bengal and Odisha. SN Pradhan said in a press conference on Tuesday evening that there is continuous monitoring of Amphon. 15 teams of NDRF have been deployed for relief operations in Odisha while 19 teams have been sent to West Bengal, while 2 teams have been placed on standby.

He said that with this the NDRF has kept its 6 battalions in reserve. Each battalion has 4-4 teams, according to which a total of 24 teams are on standby. SN Pradhan further said that we are in a situation in which we have to face the double challenges of coronavirus and cyclone. But our preparation is complete.
