New Delhi: Under the new liquor policy of the Delhi government, which is surrounded by liquor scams, the shops that are open will be closed after 10 pm today i.e. Wednesday (August 31). Actually, from September 1, the old liquor policy is going to be implemented back in Delhi. Under the old liquor policy, a total of 700 shops will open in the capital. With the opening of 300 shops on the first day (September 1), the old liquor policy will be implemented. According to the Excise Department, all shops are ready to open.

He has told that a total of 500 shops will be opened in the month of September, while a target has been set to open all 700 shops by December 31. A total of 360 brands of liquor have been registered under the old liquor policy coming into force from September 1. It also includes 260 foreign brands of liquor. In the old liquor policy, the size of the shops has been kept at a minimum of 300 sqm. All agencies have also been asked to open two premium liquor shops in their respective areas.

Let us tell you that the Delhi government implemented its new excise policy only last year. The report, based on which Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena, has said that the Delhi Excise Act and Delhi Excise Rules were violated. Along with this, the license fee of liquor vendors was also waived, causing a revenue loss of Rs 144 crore to the government. In the report, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, who also performs the responsibility of the Excise Minister, has been accused.
